For those wanting to attend the upcoming World Congress of Internal Medicine, please click on the 'Register Now' button below the registration fees. This exciting Congress is one not to be missed, so register before 15 January 2010 to secure your place and receive discounted registration.

For those without access to the internet, you may fill in the Registration Form and return it to the Congress Managers.  Each registrant must fill in a separate form.  A clean photocopy of the form will be accepted, or additional forms can be obtained from the Congress Managers.  Remember to send your completed registration form and the payment of your fees by AIRMAIL.

Please note that all persons intending to attend the Congress must register, including invited Authors, Poster Presenters and Chairpersons.  Please read through this information carefully before you complete your form.

Funding Assistance

The Australian Government's overseas aid program, AusAid, has approved a limited amount of funding to assist with the accommodation and living expenses of delegates from Fiji or Papua New Guinea.

To apply for funding please contact the Congress Managers at +61 2 9265 0700 or wcim2010@arinex.com.au.

Applications are due by Friday, 12 February 2010. Your application will be reviewed by the WCIM 2010 Organising Committee. Applicants will be notified by Friday, 19 February 2010.

Payment of Fees

NOTE:  Registrations will not be processed or confirmed until payment in full is received.

Payment may be made by cheque or credit card. MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club are the only credit cards accepted at the Congress.  Please note all transactions by credit card will appear on your statement as payment to congress by THPL.

Cheques should be made payable to WCIM 2010 Melbourne.  Your name and full address should be typed or printed clearly on the back of the cheque.  Cheque payments from overseas must be a bank cheque in Australian Dollars drawn on an Australian Bank. No other currency will be accepted.

You may not pay your fees by direct transfer.

Acknowledgements

Your registration and payment will be acknowledged via email or post with confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form.  Your registration will not be processed or confirmed if payment does not accompany your form.

You will not receive any further publications before the Congress.  Your letter of acknowledgment will include any further advice necessary prior to your arrival at the Congress. At the Congress you will receive the program and abstract book/s, delegate list and satchel.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Congress Managers.

Registration Fees:

  • Before 28 December 2009 will incur an A$100.00 cancellation fee.
  • Before 1 February 2010 will receive a 50% refund of fees paid.
  • After 1 February 2010 there will be no refund.

Accommodation:  

  • Deposit must be paid at time of booking to guarantee reservation.
  • Deposit is non-refundable at 29 January 2010 .

Social:

  • Payments are non-refundable at 1 February 2010.

Tours:

  • Payments are non-refundable at 1 February 2010. 

Entrance to Congress

Each member of the Congress will receive a name badge on registration.  The badge will be your official pass and must be clearly visible at all times to obtain entry to all sessions and to social functions.  The Congress Managers expect appropriate behaviour from attendees and reserves the right to revoke the badge and privileges of anyone behaving in an inappropriate manner.

Australian Visa Application

All travellers to Australia, other than Australian and New Zealand citizens, are legally required to hold a valid visa to travel to Australia.
Visa’s are either issued electronically (ETA) with nothing appearing in the passport or through application where a sticker is required in the passport (Non-ETA).
It is advised to apply for your visa as soon as possible to ensure processing time.  The minimum time frame stated for an Australian visa application is six (6) weeks.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind.  It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the Congress and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice.  The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Congress, or through cancellation of the Congress, loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason, loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within Australia, failure to utilise tours or pre booked arrangements due to airline delay, Force Majeure or any other reason, medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover), loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered.  The Congress managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance.  This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.

Private Touring / Hospitality Arrangements

Should you have any specialised group requirements for private touring, transportation or hospitality services other than those organised for the official program, please contact the Congress Manager who would be pleased to assist with arrangements.

Private Functions

It is requested that you advise the Congress Managers of any private /corporate functions that might be planned outside of the official program.  The Congress Managers would be pleased to assist with arrangements for any of these events.
